The Sermon on the Mount Part 12: Asking, Seeking and Knocking 

Asking, Seeking and Knocking (Matthew 7:7-11, Luke 11:13)

  1. Ask
    • When we are in  , we are to ask.
    • We are to be persistent in  .
    • The emphasis of asking is on God as the   provider.
  2. Seek
    • We are to   seek and pursue God.
    • We are to seek:
      • The Kingdom of God
      • Jesus, our  
    • When we seek this, there is a   that we will find God.
  3. Knock: As we knock, seeking God, God is good to open the door for us, showing us a clear   in our time of need.
  4. We are to be   in pursuing God, who is the source.
  5. God gives good things to His children.

Do unto Others … (Matthew 7:12)

  1. We are to be moved to   on behalf of other people.
  2. It doesn’t matter how others treat us. We know how we would like to be treated so treat other people in that way.
  3. Don’t be  .
  4. Because God has chosen to work through His people, many times we are the   to the prayers and needs of others.
