Dream One - Marry Mary 

• God protected Jesus through Joseph by using Joseph to give Jesus a  .

Dream Two - Escape to Egypt

• God uses Joseph to protect Jesus by moving to Egypt.
• Herod:

  2. Rome established his rule and kept him in power.
• Fulfillment of two prophecies:
  1. Hosea 11:1 – The messiah will be   out of Egypt.
  2. Jeremiah 31:15 – The  of Rachel.

• Herod’s son Archelaus was as  as Herod.
• Herod’s Antipas was a more capable ruler.
• God protected Jesus through Joseph by giving him a home.
• Fulfillment of prophecy
  1. Jesus to be called a  
     • Isaiah 11:1
  2. Jesus would be a descendant King David.
  3. To be from Nazareth became synonymous with being  .   

 Application

• Like Joseph, we need to be willing to change our plans to fit with God’s.
• Obedience to God should be immediate.
