The Sermon on the Mount Study 13: Walking the Narrow Path

The Narrow Path (Matthew 7:13-20)

  1. Fruit of the wide path:   and false religiosity, strife, division, callousness, a judgmental spirit, etc.
  2. Fruit of the narrow path:  , joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, and self-control, etc.
  3. Like kind   like kind: A healthy tree will produce good fruit and an unhealthy tree will produce bad fruit.

Being Known on the Narrow Path (Matthew 7:21-23)

  1. A relationship with Jesus
    • It is not about   appearances.
    • It is about coming into a   with Him.
    •   that Jesus is Lord and believe that God the Father raised Him from the dead.
  2. We are saved by   Jesus and   by Him.

The House on the Narrow Path (Matthew 7:24-27)

  1.  , Christian and non-Christian alike, build houses of faith and belief.
  2. The world and the culture of today build their houses on the shifting sand of  .
  3. Jesus tells us there is a   foundation that we can build our houses on: Himself.

Conclusion: Share the good news that…

  1. We can lose the burden of having to bear fruit or else.
  2. God   to know people.
  3. Jesus wants people to   their houses on the solid foundation of Himself.
