Today, we are going to look at a time when Jesus was judged wrongly by people who were not necessarily looking for the will of God. As a result, we are going to see the lesson we can learn from this.

Right Judgment

Looking for Jesus 

  1. There were people who were open to Jesus and those who were in  to Him.
  2. The religious were more interested in status quo.
    • Jesus was  things up.
    • They were interested in looking like good Jews to other Jews.
    • They were looking to trip Jesus up so they could get  of Him.

Seeking the Glory of the Father 

  1. When Jesus shows up to the feast, he goes immediately to the temple and begins to  .
  2. The Sanhedrin are astonished because Jesus preaches with such  .
  3. They are not so much impressed by Jesus as much as they were  of Him.
  4. They challenge Jesus’ authority and right to be teaching.
  5. The  that Jesus taught was easy and light.
  6. Jesus’ teaching is  The message He is teaching is  and not filtered by a rabbi.

Right Judgment 

  1. Jesus shows them their  .
  2. We should make righteous judgments, not judgment based merely on appearances.
  3. When we judge others, remember that we too are “law breakers”  on the grace of God.
  4. We need to be  to making right judgments:
    • Spend time getting to know God through his word.
    • Ask yourself, is the person looking to  themselves or God?
    • Don’t make judgments merely on  .
  5. Strengthen relationships by elevating people.
