Law as Grace (Week 3) … Fidelity

Fidelity of the Mind (Matthew 5:27-30)

1. Law = You shall not commit adultery, the   act.
2. Grace = Even   in the heart toward another that is not your spouse is sexual sin.
3. Gouge out our eyes and cut off our hands = Take   measures to avoid sexual sin.

Fidelity in Marriage (Matthew 5:31-32)

1. A certificate of divorce freed the woman to   without being seen as committing adultery.
2. God never prescribes divorce; it is only   after all other efforts at reconciliation have failed.
3. Divorce for any other reason than sexual infidelity in marriage leads to   by both parties.
4. Adultery is experienced through infidelity to God by breaking the   nature of marriage.
5. God hates divorce and desires to see   and redemption of relationships.

Fidelity of Integrity (Matthew 5:33-37)

1. Don’t make   because you can’t make an oath on anything that is not under your control.
2. You shouldn’t have to try and convince people of the   of your word.
3. Let your yes mean   and your no mean no.
